Today I wanted to post about a new gem I recently found out about, which is numerology. I want to first put it out there that I am a beginner to this occult method. Though I am only a newbee, I must admit, I [surprisingly] find this extremely revealing and at least for me, very true.I am not a huge believer in astrology, I do read it for entertainment purposes, but that is about it. Numerology is a close cousin to astrology. Here is how numerology works. Using numbers such as your birthday, name (which can be broken down into numbers) and even the vowels and constants in your your [full] birth name, you can discover your life path (personality traits that are always within you and make up much of who you are and how people see you) your destiny (what your supposed to do in life/purpose) also called your expression number, and other things such as your soul urge (what drives you) and your inner desires (things that you may not even consciously know you yearn for). It isn’t psychic work nor magic. The numbers are pre-destined and written. Each number has a meaning and spiritual explanation as to how it pertains to you. This is literally math. And practitioners of numerology and scientists alike explain that everything in this world is mathematical. So understanding numbers and why they are here, presented to you repeatedly in certain fashions all mean so much more than a coincidence. Practitioners of numerology believe that everyone should have an understanding of numbers to better understand not only themselves, but people around them, even down to knowing the season you are in and how to get the best out of it. Numerology can even go as far as helping you recognize who a great partner is for you based on their birth days and life path numbers, in correlation to your numbers of course.
So how does numerology work?
Well in numerology the numbers 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 make up all numbers and all numbers can be broken back down into these single digit numbers. Based on what you are looking at the numbers for, each number can tell you how they apply to you and how they make up who you are and meant to be. I will start with myself as an example. For fun, I will also show you how to calculate your own life path number, along with a link to read what your life path number means for you. (You may find these descriptions shockingly true)
OK, so my birthday is 01-16-1988, In order to get my birthday down to one single number, I will add 1+16+1988. It is important to add the entire 4 digit year and not the last two digits as someone could’ve been born 2088, or 1888, creating an entirely different number. This equals out to 2005, I then add 2+0+0+5, equaling 7 (if your sum is still a double digit, then you add them together again to get your life path number, ex: 11/1+1=2). So my life path number is 7. Each life path number holds both positive and negative attributes, as humans have both. The life path of a number 7 as taken from astrology-numerology.com;

The overwhelming strength of the number 7 is reflected in the depth of thinking that is shown; you will garner knowledge from practically every source that you find. Intellectual, scientific, and studious, you don’t accept a premise until you have dissected the subject and arrived at your own independent conclusion.
This is a very spiritual number and it often denotes a sort of spiritual wisdom that becomes apparent at a fairly early age. A built in inner guide providing a strong sense of intuition may set you up as being a law unto yourself. Whatever spiritual position you take, whether traditional or bizarre, you will cling to it with fervor. Once you have decided an issue, it is almost impossible to get you to revisit the question. Adaptability is not your style, and change for you is a rarity.
You rely heavily on your experiences and your intuition, rather than accepting advice from someone. Your hunches usually prove to be very accurate, and knowing this, you follow the directions they seem to guide.
In the most negative use of the 7 energies, you can become very pessimistic, lackadaisical, quarrelsome, and secretive. A Life Path 7 individual who is not living life fully and gaining through experiences, is a hard person to live with because of a serious lack of consideration for others. There is such a negative attitude. Indeed, operating on the negative side of the 7 can produce a very selfish and spoiled individual and living with one can be a challenge. This may be why some 7’s actually prefer living alone. If you have any of the negative traits they are very difficult to get rid of because you tend to feel that the world really does owe you a living or that in some way you are not being fairly treated.
Fortunately, the negative 7 is not the typical 7, at least not without some mitigating positive traits. This number is one that seems to have some major shifts from highs to lows. Stability in feelings may be elusive for you.”
For me, this description was almost eerily on point. It’s very easy to deny the negative aspects because we don’t want to agree that we may have experienced them or are inclined to. But at least for me, I have battled with to some extent depression. I am avidly against the use of drugs, but in a high emotional states, have divulged into drinking alcohol, never to the extent of alcoholism, but I do understand what it’s getting to.
